A 15-year-old girl has since been arrested on suspicion of burglary and criminal damage.

She was questioned by officers yesterday (Sunday) and released on police bail as an investigation into what happened continues.

Detective Sergeant David Smith, of Nottighamshire Police, said:

“This was a mindless act of vandalism that caused extensive damage to a valued community resource.

“We are aware this incident has caused considerable concern in the local community and would like to reassure residents that we are working hard to identify all of those involved.

“To this end anyone with additional information is asked to come forward by calling 101 and quoting incident 130 of 23 June 2024.”
