From today until 8 October, operatives at Veolia, contractors that dispose of kerbside waste in Nottinghamshire will be taking strike action, in a dispute between staff and Veolia management.
Veolia is working to ensure their sites remain open for waste collection vehicles to dispose of household and trade waste, to minimise disruption on the service for residents.
Residents are being assured that the disposal of glass recycling and garden waste is not impacted by this industrial action but, trade and household waste (green bin) and mixed recycling (blue bin) may be affected.
Customers should be aware that the strike action is discontinuous meaning some days may be more affected than others.
The council say they will endeavour to work with the county council and other partners to keep disruption to a minimum.
For now, MDC's advice to residents and businesses is to 'please put your bin out for collection as scheduled and follow our social media feeds and website for updates'.
'We apologise for any inconvenience that the industrial action may cause our residents.
Customers are advised to follow our latest news for more service updates and make use of alternative recycling points should they be needed.'
