In his victory speech the re-elected MP called Ashfield the capital of common sense.
Mr Anderson who defected from the conservative party in March of this year also said that he 'wants his country back' after winning the seat with 17,062 votes beating Labour's Rhea Keehn into second place with 11,554 votes.
The independent candidate Jason Zadrozny, who is the leader of Ashfield District Council, came third in the race with 6,276 votes.
In Ashfield there was a 58% turn out.
