Fearne Cotton shares update after getting tumours removed

Presenter Fearne Cotton has said she is "healing well" and feeling "almost normal" weeks after having two benign tumours removed from her jaw.

The TV, radio, and podcast host, 43, posted pictures of her scars on her Instagram page on Saturday.

"The human body is incredible," she wrote. "In less than three weeks you can barely notice where I had the tumour removed.

"I feel almost normal. My ear is still quite numb and my face a little tender but other than that I'm feeling good."

The Happy Place presenter uploaded four pictures of her jaw after her surgery, adding: "Only swipe if you want to see the gradual stages of healing. It's not massively gruesome but it certainly looks worse than photo number 1."

She said she will "always wear this scar with pride".

Cotton said she found the experience of undergoing the procedure "fascinating", that she is "feeling grateful" the tumour was benign, and that she had good care.

She also thanked her surgeon who "made her feel extremely calm" and described her nurses as "complete angels".

"Nurse Jackie was especially amazing whilst I was in hospital telling me to get off my phone and nap etc.," she wrote. "I needed a firm telling off at times."

The discovery of the tumours came the month after TV presenter Davina McCall had surgery to remove a colloid cyst in her brain.

The 57-year-old had the rare fluid-filled, benign tumour successfully removed in November.

After Cotton posted about her tumours, she said she was "not only lucky" that McCall is a "good mate... but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff".

Earlier this month, the TV presenter revealed she had split up with her husband of 10 years Jesse Wood - son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.

They married in 2014 and have two children together - Rex and Honey.
